Overview

Inspired by Ransom Riggs's haunting narrative, I embarked on a project to redesign the cover of Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children. My objective was to capture the novel's eerie atmosphere and peculiar charm through a more serious, dark, and mysterious illustrative style.

Concept & Design

The original book combines vintage photography with a fantastical storyline. To reflect this unique blend, I focused on creating illustrations that evoke a sense of nostalgia while emphasizing the story's darker elements.

Design Elements:

• Illustrative Style: Employed hand-drawn illustrations to convey the peculiarities of the characters and settings.

• Color Palette: Utilized muted tones to maintain a mysterious ambiance.

• Typography: Selected fonts that complement the vintage aesthetic and enhance readability.
